Volunteer Opportunity: Reading Buddy in ASE (Afterschool Enrichment) Volunteer Commitment Period: August 24, 2026 - May 1, 2027 Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 17 years of age or older Available Volunteer Slots: 25 Make a lasting impact in a child's life by becoming a Reading Buddy in our Afterschool Enrichment (ASE) Program. Volunteers will be paired with a Kindergarten through 2nd grade student to provide one-on-one reading support, encouragement, and academic enrichment. As a Reading Buddy, you will help students build confidence, improve literacy skills, and develop a love of reading through tutoring, reading aloud, and engaging literacy activities in a supportive environment. Volunteer Responsibilities • Read with and tutor a K-2 student during ASE program hours. • Encourage positive learning habits and build a supportive relationship. • Assist students with literacy-focused activities. • Serve as a positive role model and mentor. Requirements • Must be at least 17 years old. • Commit to volunteering during the program period from August 24, 2026 through May 1, 2027. • Demonstrate reliability, patience, and enthusiasm for working with children. • Complete any required volunteer screening and orientation processes. This role involves performing general duties as assigned, supporting our programs and community in meaningful ways. Responsibilities Volunteers may assist with various operational areas: Member Engagement, Wellness, and Aquatics Member Engagement: Activities may include welcoming members, assisting staff during member engagement or fundraising events, helping with registration or sign‑in, distributing materials, and providing general event support. Wellness: Responsibilities may include helping with wellness inventory organization, supporting special wellness activations, and assisting during fundraising or health‑focused events. Aquatics: Support may include event setup and breakdown, participant check‑in, crowd flow assistance, and general on‑deck or administrative support as assigned by staff. The 3rd Annual Summit Family THRIVE Disability & Inclusion Resource Fair relies on dedicated volunteers to help create a welcoming, inclusive, and successful experience for individuals with disabilities, families, caregivers, community partners, and exhibitors. As a volunteer, you will play an important role in ensuring attendees feel supported, informed, and connected throughout the event. Whether you are assisting with event setup, helping exhibitors, greeting guests, or supporting activities, your time and enthusiasm will help make a meaningful difference in our community. Volunteer Opportunities Include: Event Setup & Breakdown – Assist with tables, chairs, signage, vendor spaces, and event materials. Registration & Welcome Team – Greet attendees, assist with check-in, distribute event materials, and answer basic questions. Wayfinding & Accessibility Support – Help attendees navigate the venue and locate resources, exhibitors, and activities. Vendor & Exhibitor Support – Assist exhibitors with setup, logistics, and event needs throughout the day. Activity & Program Assistants – Support demonstrations, adaptive activities, children's activities, and interactive experiences. Hospitality Team – Assist with refreshments, volunteer support, and guest services.
