Volunteer Opportunity: Reading Buddy in ASE (Afterschool Enrichment) Volunteer Commitment Period: August 24, 2026 - May 1, 2027 Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 17 years of age or older Available Volunteer Slots: 25 Make a lasting impact in a child's life by becoming a Reading Buddy in our Afterschool Enrichment (ASE) Program. Volunteers will be paired with a Kindergarten through 2nd grade student to provide one-on-one reading support, encouragement, and academic enrichment. As a Reading Buddy, you will help students build confidence, improve literacy skills, and develop a love of reading through tutoring, reading aloud, and engaging literacy activities in a supportive environment. Volunteer Responsibilities • Read with and tutor a K-2 student during ASE program hours. • Encourage positive learning habits and build a supportive relationship. • Assist students with literacy-focused activities. • Serve as a positive role model and mentor. Requirements • Must be at least 17 years old. • Commit to volunteering during the program period from August 24, 2026 through May 1, 2027. • Demonstrate reliability, patience, and enthusiasm for working with children. • Complete any required volunteer screening and orientation processes.
