Camp High Harbour at Lake Burton - Summer 2026

Camp High Harbour

YMCA Camp High Harbour at Lake Burton has volunteer opportunities available for 2026 overnight camp, but each volunteer candidate must be interviewed and selected for a role before volunteering. If you are interested in applying for a volunteer role, please email Erin Pitts at erinp@ymcaatlanta.org. Once you have been selected, please use this page to register for the role and complete your prerequisite onboarding. Leaders in Training must register and complete the onboarding process prior to attending camp. Leaders in Training should direct their questions to Kristen Grant at kristeng@ymcaatlanta.org. Camp volunteers are considered High Access Volunteers under our Praesidium accreditation standards. To meet accreditation requirements, all High Access Volunteers must complete an interview, a reference check, and Youth & Teen Safety Onboarding prior to beginning their volunteer role with the Y. This onboarding includes four required steps in Volunteer Matters: Volunteer Waiver Youth & Teen Safety Policy acknowledgment Background Check Youth & Teen Safety Training (E-learning) Completing these steps is essential to achieving accreditation and reinforcing the Y’s culture of safety. Thank you for your commitment to making the YMCA a safe, supportive place for all. One of our main priorities of the Y-2025 Strategic Plan, People are the Why, focuses on connecting Y staff, volunteers, and members with opportunities and experiences for individuals to create positive change in our community. The time you spend as a volunteer is a vital and important part of meeting this priority. As part of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta’s commitment to the safety and well-being of children, teens, and vulnerable adults, we are working toward Praesidium Accreditation by October 31, 2025—a rigorous certification confirming we meet the highest standards for abuse prevention. Camp volunteers are considered High Access Volunteers under Praesidium Standards, meaning you volunteer regularly with the Y and have access to youth/vulnerable adults. Depending on your role, you may be entrusted to conduct Y volunteer work independent of Y staff.
