Coaching is a unique opportunity to instill positive values and help kids develop healthy habits that extend far beyond the playing field. Our coaches provide a welcoming atmosphere, teach fundamentals of the game and promote the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork. Volunteer Coach Responsibilities: Instruct players in the fundamentals of soccer while promoting good sportsmanship Hold team practices 1 hour every week and coach games Communicate with team members and parents Share praise and build confidence in young athletes Promote an inclusive and positive experience Live YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, & Responsibility Requirements To ensure the safety of our youth and community, all volunteers must complete the following: Background Check Coach Code of Conduct Heads Up: Concussion for Youth Sports Youth and Teen Safety Policy Training (20-minute video) Youth and Teen Safety Policy Waiver Volunteer Waiver We appreciate your commitment to keeping our youth and teens safe and look forward to having you volunteer with us!
