Help create a fun, safe, and inclusive summer experience for youth in our community! Summer Camp Volunteers play a meaningful role in supporting YMCA staff and enriching the daily experience of campers through hands-on engagement, encouragement, and positive energy. This opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to give back in a flexible, supervised environment while making a direct impact on youth development. Volunteer Responsibilities Volunteers will support camp staff in a variety of ways, including: Assisting with group activities such as games, arts & crafts, STEAM projects, and outdoor play Helping prepare, set up, and clean up activity spaces and materials Supporting transitions between activities (snack time, lunch, rotations, etc.) Encouraging camper participation and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment Providing general support to staff to ensure a safe, organized, and engaging camp day Modeling positive behavior and upholding YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility Volunteer Classification This role is classified as a Low Access Volunteer: Volunteers have limited interaction with youth and are always supervised by Y staff To ensure a safe and supportive environment for all youth and families, volunteers must complete the following onboarding steps prior to serving: Volunteer Application & Waiver Background Check Youth & Teen Safety Policy acknowledgment Youth & Teen Safety Training (E-learning) All onboarding items must be completed and approved (“Pass” status) in VolunteerMatters before a volunteer can sign up or participate in shifts.
