Coaching is a unique opportunity to instill positive values and help kids develop healthy habits that extend far beyond the playing field. Our coaches provide a welcoming atmosphere, teach fundamentals of the game and promote the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork. Volunteer Coach Responsibilities: *Instruct players in the fundamentals of basketball while promoting good sportsmanship *Hold team practices 1 hour every week and coach games *Communicate with team members and parents *Share praise and build confidence in young athletes *Promote an inclusive and positive experience *Live YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, & Responsibility Season Dates: Ages 5 & Up: Practice starts: November 18th, 2024 First game: December 7th, 2024 Season: November 18th, 2024 – February 8th, 2025 Ages 3 & 4 (Choose One Practice Day): Monday: December 2nd, 2024 – January 13th, 2025 Tuesday: December 3rd, 2024 – January 14th, 2025 Thursday: December 5th, 2024 – January 16th, 2025
