The Villages at Carver Family YMCA
Volunteers for this program will be assisting to lead and host a male mentoring program for youth males ages 11-18. The Voice of a Man program is being delivered through the YMCA Boys and Young Men strategy. In this male focused mentoring circle supports our males with what they need to be successful today and in life after graduation. Our young men of color need positive role models in their lives and as result, improve their behavior, decrease the academic or school attendance issues and/or can benefit from the support of other peers and mentors within the community. Through mentorship and brave space sharing, the young men are encouraged to explore who they are, who they want to be and what is keeping them from that goal. They explore their accountability, values, self-worth, life skills and leadership Volunteer positions includes: Workshop Hosts, Guest Speakers, and Mentors .
